"Our vocation is form. Basic, orderly, inspired by the balance of natural elements. Klodea’s handles and finishing accessories are the interpretation of a typically Italian artistic language. They lend an unprecedented lightness to the gentle, well-defined lines of their components.
Klodea’s tradition is, a launching-pad for the achievement of new creative ideas."
Impalpable, like silk. This precious fabric lends its name to the Soie Collection, the elegant, minimalist line of handles by Klodea. A single, slim filament of metal, curved in its central part, was the inspiration for this design, intended for horizontal applications.
Delicacy and visual lightness are the result of this stylistic approach, dedicated to those for whom class is synonymous with simplicity. A handle that recalls the fluid sensation of silk sliding through one’s hands.
Klodea’s Tondoquadro collection, stable and lightweight, is a study in volumetric design. The square shape provides a solid anchor point that makes it a practical and efficient solution for any home.
The support structure, perfectly defined, envelops the hollow form in a circular embrace. The heart of the flat plate opens on the empty core, creating clean and soft lines. The Klodea innovation, in Tondoquadro lies in the juxtaposition of proportions: a combination of dissimilar forms that blends without losing their individuality.
Simone Viola was born in Mendrisio, Switzerland, in 1985.
He studied industrial design in Milan and soon began to collaborate with prominent Italian and international architecture and design studios.
In 2011, these experiences led him to open his own studio in Switzerland, specializing in industrial design and interiors. The décor sector became his main area of interest and experimentation, and his personal tastes began to emerge: a strong inclination towards clean lines and artisan workmanship.
His efforts are mainly devoted to an ongoing search for functional simplicity, in which design becomes the expression of a personal style while serving a practical purpose. This confluence gives rise to minimalist, ergonomic shapes, intended to decorate living spaces in a recognizable manner. To this end, Simone Viola personally oversees all the stages of creation and production, scrupulously overseeing every detail in the entire process.
Klodea drew its inspiration for Ook from the classic hook we all know: the wall-mounted hook that exudes home, warmth and hospitality. Traditional shapes interpreted with a contemporary minimalism, resulting in a refined simplicity.
Designed in one continuous line, Ook is elasticity and fluidity expressed in metal. A vertically extended solution with exceptional lightness, its anchoring surface is reduced to a minimum thanks to Klodea’s technology. A retrolook and a love of the essential are perfectly blended in this quintessentially Italian design.
